Our People
Our Music Therapists
We currently employ 14 music therapists (8 part-time and 4 full-time).
All music therapists employed by Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy in Scotland are required to have successfully graduated from one of the seven accredited postgraduate training courses in the UK and maintain registration with the Health Professions Council. (HPC)
We also require them to maintain membership with the British Association for Music Therapy (BAMT) and have Personal Indemnity Insurance for their clinical practice. In addition to this, because of the nature of our work, they must have an Enhanced Disclosure Check or be a member of the PVG scheme through the Central Registered Body in Scotland.
Our music therapists undertake regular clinical supervision (with a music therapist or other relevant professional) and are required by the BAMT to provide evidence of appropriate training and continuous professional development. As clinicians, they are bound by the code of ethics and standards of proficiency of the HPC and BAMT, who are the governing bodies for the profession.
