For the fourth consecutive year, we are pleased to partner with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow to offer training courses in Music Therapy in July as part of their Summer School Programme 2017.

We will run a two-day course Introduction to Music Therapy 5-6 July

Plus two half day workshops:
Making Music with Pre-school Children, 7 July 9.30am-1pm

Using Music in Dementia Care, 7 July 2pm-5.30pm.

The workshops are  suitable for health and social care professionals and those working in education.  They would also be of interest to those people who are considering music therapy for a family member or client.  If you are thinking about undertaking training to become a music therapist, they can offer a useful insight into the work of a music therapist. Please follow the links above to book through the RCS website.

Want to be a Music Therapist?

All professional music therapists in the UK are qualified at a postgraduate level.  Please find details and links below to courses in the UK recognised by the British Association of Music Therapy. Each course requires a high level of musicianship: students are normally accepted only if they have had a three year musical training leading to a diploma or a degree from a college of music or from a university.

Students who hold qualifications in subjects other than music, e.g. education or psychology, may be accepted if they have achieved a high standard of musical performance. Assessment of personality and suitability for the work also forms part of an interview.
