Accessing music therapy
Referrals to music therapy may come from parents, carers, General Practitioners, Paediatricians, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Social Workers, Special Schools, Residential Homes, Day Centres, other professionals, or the clients themselves.
If you wish to make a private referral for music therapy you can do so using the generic referral form. You should send it to the nearest clinic to you, as the music therapy would be undertaken in the workrooms there. At times we have to operate a short waiting list, but be assured someone will always get back to you about your enquiry and we will endeavour to carry out an assessment as soon as possible.
If you are enquiring about music therapy at an outreach venue you should in the first instance contact the clinic nearest to you and speak to a member of staff or send an E-Mail enquiry via the links on the Contact page. When working in an outreach venue we normally look to have a minimum input of 3 hours per week.
Referrals can be made to the base closest to you listed on the 'In Your Area' page.
Where can I get funding towards the cost of music therapy?
We help to meet a proportion of our costs through the fees we charge for clinical services. If you require help with funding towards the cost of music therapy there are various organisations that may be able to help.
